Gotham Research conducts independent equity research for institutional investors and professional money managers. On the research side, our focus is a collection of proprietary statistical models and technical indicators that generate "early" Buy and Sell signals. At the beginning of each business day, we carefully review a set of automatically generated (blackbox) trade ideas. Each of these ideas is evaluated against an additional set of fundamental thesis and quantitative thesis criteria, in order to arrive at a select list of daily trade recommendations.

Our recommendations include both long and short positions as well as carefully reviewed dollar-neutral pair trade opportunities. These recommendations are delivered to our clients every morning, before the open, via a daily update email newsletter. Each recommendation listed includes a short technical and fundamental summary, as well as a link to a detailed multi-page analysis report. Prior recommendation and trade performance statistics are included in each newsletter and also archived on our website.

We have been developing our system and report designs for many years and have been delighted by the positive reaction from the institutional investment community. As an additional service to our clients, we now provide a collection of web-based dynamic research tools. These tools allow monitoring of our recommendations as well as permit one to research and investigate new trade ideas.

The Gotham Stock Universe consists of approximately 1,500 North American Equities and ADRs with mid to large market capitalizations and good trading volume. The Gotham Pair Universe contains approximately 2.4 million pairs. Clients who lack the ability to Short can implement our sell recommendations via swaps and other re-allocation weighting strategies.
